Keep ReadingStories from Strangers
We’ll have a new question here every month for you to answer and engage with. Think of this as an online journal, except everyone gets a page in the book, and no one knows who’s written what (fun!).
Pour your heart out or read through the pages of someone else’s heart. Either way, we hope you find comfort in reading these stories from strangers.

Managing to stay alive despite of how hard life was Keeping the faith that things will work out regardless of the situation. Financially last year I was in the pit, and this year for a short period it looked promising but again it became slightly worse. Some of it it’s my fault but I’m glad I managed to come out of it

I spent 10 months pregnant and gave birth to the most beautiful baby boy at the beginning of the 2024. A week later, he died in my arms. I knew he was special from the moment he was born and put into my arms. I knew he was sent to us and that we were made his parents for a reason. Now, although the pain still resides and the trauma still lives on inside my mind and body and there have been days where I’m not quite sure how I’m going to survive, somehow, I have been able to carry on. This is my biggest victory in the past year. I knew I was strong before but throughout this journey, i’ve found even more strength within me. To put on a brave face, to make hard decisions, and to carry on without my little angel.

My accomplishment for 2024, really began on 7 October 2023.
I’m a Jewish South African Israeli and the fear and trauma I lived through and felt that day, and all the days since is intense with horror.
I’ve learnt how to stand up for my beliefs, while so many ‘friends’ disappeared and said the most awful things. I have received hate mail and rejectionn.
I have never felt more alone, yet I stand proud of my history and Israel.
I think and worry about everyone’s lives daily, Jews and Palestinians alike. This war needs to end and the hostages must come home.
